Self Development
The journey of Martial Arts should not be just about learning how to fight.
Through training, we learn respect, discipline, manners, mind skills like controlling our emotions, how we should think about things, how to deal with issues that confront us, or even learning a healthy diet, and good life style and so on, so really, we learn all about life and life skills, and grow as good human beings.
So, improving everyday as a better person is more important than becoming a champion in martial arts.

Submission Arts Wrestling (SAW) World Headquarters Dojo
"The Japanese Catch Wrestling"
" SAW is known for variations of devastating leg locks and flowing submission holds "
Submission Arts Wrestling (SAW) is a modern Catch Wrestling based Japanese Martial Art and Combat Sport that incorporates elements from Judo, Sambo, Wrestling, and Jujits. SAW was originated as a multi discipline Martial Arts founded 1980's by Master Hidetaka Aso who was a champion of wrestling and sambo in Japan. He is author of many textbooks, and chairman of prestigious martial arts federations and committees. Hidetaka Aso is highly regarded as the master of the science of submissions. He designed this style to be a useful fighting style in street situations as self-defence. The original student of SAW developed and tested this style through sparring and fighting against other Martial Arts styles, then made it stronger, as there was no proper MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighting styles in those days. This was about 10 years before the UFC tournament started in the U.S.A in 1993. Today MMA is very popular and spread worldwide. SAW is specialized as a No-Gi grappling art, and for takedowns, throws against strikes, and a variety of submission holds. Master Aso thinks that in a street situation, if you just smash your opponent onto the concrete ground that will injure them and you can submit them. Toshiyuki Ito is one of the original and oldest students of Hidetaka Aso. He arrived Australia in 1993 and established the SAW Australian branch, and it became the SAW world headquarters dojo now. |

Tanden Breathing 丹田呼吸法
|
Learning and improving our breathing technique is one of the biggest parts in martial arts training.
Because Japanese martial arts were originally made for fighting in Samurai wars. If they got scared and panicked too much, their fighting abilities become weaker, so they couldn’t survive in a battle. Their breathing technique kept their mind calm and focused. They usually wore armour when fighting in a war, so it was hard for them to make deadly strikes even using swords. The breathing technique made their strikes sharper and stronger. Those wars usually continued for a long time like hours and days. If they got too tired, they couldn’t survive. The breathing technique made their fitness and stamina last longer. In our modern society, we are not killing each other but we work hard, are busy all the time, and get a lot of stresses everyday from many different things. We can get great benefits from this ancient breathing technique. |
