Musashi Miyamoto the greatest “Samurai” said,
“ When I reached thirty years old and looked back on my past, the previous victories were not because I mastered techniques. Maybe I just had natural ability, or that other schools of fighting style were not good enough.
After that I study and train everyday, morning and evening searching for the ultimate truth, and came to realize the way of Martial Arts when I was fifty years old. ”
Fifty years old at that time would be about seventy or eighty years old in present time.
Martial Arts is not just for young people. Learning new techniques keep your brain and body working.
You can still keep improving, as you are getting older. Even if you were competing and fighting before, then retired from competitions, you should keep training and try to keep improving.
There is a Japanese Martial Arts saying,
“ Great talents mature late “
That means the great talented people show their full ability when they become older.
To be able to keep improving your technique, you need to know your body well. Try to get the movement that is natural for you, and find your way of fighting.
Don’t give up something you want to do because of your age. Never say that you are too old to do something.
If you change your mindset, your body will change, if your body changes your mind will improve, then you can reverse the aging process!!
